Behind the breathtaking runway moments of any fashion show is a whirlwind of movement, creativity, and relentless teamwork. At the 9th Annual Calgary International Fashion & Arts Week (CIFAW) , this backstage magic was brought to life by Creative Director Alvin Masangkay Francia and Show Director Limuel Hayag Vilela, working seamlessly with a powerhouse team of models, hair and makeup artists, and visionary designers.
Limuel Vilela, SCI’s main guy and show director, caught in the zone giving last-minute runway tips to a model.
This year’s spotlight featured a dynamic lineup of Filipino creatives—Maliyah Abenir, SCI PH, Odelon Simpao, Kenny Ladaga, Jaki Peñalosa, and John Ablaza—each adding their own signature flair to the night’s couture showcase. But while the audience saw only the glitz and glamour, it was Mark David Octavio, Chief Creative Officer of TYNTA CREATIVE STUDIOS, who had the rare opportunity to document the artistry behind the scenes.

Armed with a lens and a keen eye for story, Mark captured the unfiltered hustle, emotion, and candid beauty that happens just out of sight. His backstage images reveal more than just fashion—they reveal the heartbeat of the event.
“When I’m behind the camera, names and titles disappear,” shares Mark with Inspirations.PH. “I’m naturally introverted, but in that space, everyone’s just focused on doing their best. It’s mutual respect all around—and I think that’s what fuels creativity.”
Fresh from an international pageant shoot, Mark knows a thing or two about fast-paced environments. When asked how he manages to capture emotions amidst the chaos, he reveals a deeper intention.
“I always remind myself that models are more than professionals—they’re people. When you treat them with that human respect, it makes everything easier. The atmosphere lightens, and that authenticity shows in the photos.”

With CIFAW 2025 wrapped, what’s next for TYNTA?
“We’re diving headfirst into the wedding scene,” Mark laughs. “We want to bring the same artistic energy we pour into fashion into bridal celebrations. But of course, fashion and pageants will always be close to our heart.”
