I. Where to start
The kilig over your proposal story is still fresh in your memory. It still warms the heart and you and your fiance/e still retell the story to friends and family who were not not there when THE question was popped. With those who were there, you simply can’t get over discussing each magical detail.
By now, you probably have a thousand and one suggestions from well meaning friends on what to do next. And you probably are still on cloud nine trying to absorb everything.
Welcome to the wonderful world of wedding planning. The fun continues.
First Things First:
Where to Start, my love?
You and your fiance/e need to pin down a date.
As both of you let people know about your wedding, you will realize that not everyone will be available on the same date. It’s wise to choose an alternative date in case your non-negotiables are not available on your first choice.
Here are some guide questions to help you choose a date:
- Who are the people you need or want to be present at your wedding? Are they abroad or can they travel for your wedding?
- Is there a significant date you are fond of like an anniversary, birthday, first date, or any milestone in your love story? This may be a good place to start.
- Is there enough time to prepare for your wedding?
- Do you want a wedding in the summer or cooler months?
- Is the church / ceremony venue and reception venue available?
- Are your must-have / “non-negotiable” suppliers available?
Where to Start? After the choosing the date, now what?
