According to Joyce, “They contain light-reflecting pigments that go on smooth, even, and sheer without the added thick layers of traditional makeup.” That’s how some celebs sport the poreless look while appearing to have hardly any makeup on. She adds, “The technique involves small brush strokes and fine sponge application to get makeup to blend as seamlessly as possible!”

By Joyce’s definition, the ultimate bridal look is one of classic elegance with a modern take. It starts with highlighting fresh skin and doing clean, precise makeup. She loves working on the eyes, so on-point brows are a must. Her eyeshadow shades of choice feature warm neutrals, followed by full mink lashes that beckon. Hair is styled in either swept-up loose curls or sleek and straight.
Asked about celebrity bridal inspirations, she notes that Heart Evangelista created a timeless look for her big day. Anne Curtis made her own bridal makeup effortless and natural. For the sweet and youthful look, Kween Liza Soberano reigns supreme, while Solenn Heussaff projects the sassiness of a free-spirited bride.
But the surprising thing is that brides don’t insist on copying their pegs too closely. They trust Joyce’s bespoke beauty recommendations which she achieves by creating a face chart based on their facial structures. This technique emphasizes each bride’s best assets and unique features.
TIME FOR TIPS
To prep skin for the full day ahead, Joyce recommends getting lots of sleep and starting with a good skin care regimen. She advocates the use of long-wear makeup along with finishing powder and setting spray to keep the bridal beauty in place all day. The bridal minaudiere must contain lash glue, blotters, a drinking straw, and tinted lip balm. The latter is great for a mess-free blush of color for all those kissing moments.
