In the heart of Caleruega Chapel of Transfiguration, surrounded by lush greenery and the promise of a new beginning, Anton Montaño and Marie De Guzman exchanged vows on a crisp September afternoon. Love Taking it’s Due Course
Anton and Marie first crossed paths through a common friend in February 2022. The magnetic pull between them was undeniable, but fate had its own timing. It wasn’t until April of that year that they officially began dating, respecting the constraints of their existing relationships. However, destiny had a plan for these two souls, and as they delved deeper into each other’s worlds, love blossomed effortlessly.
Love Unrestrained
In May, the couple took the plunge and declared their commitment to each other. Yet, their journey faced an unexpected hurdle as Marie embarked on a new chapter in her career. This time as a flight attendant for Qatar Airways in June. Distance may have tested their bond, but love prevailed. Anton would seize every opportunity to be with Marie. He’d even book flights to her layovers just to spend a precious 24 hours together.
From St. Joseph to San Jose
Marie, a devout follower of Saint Joseph, had prayed for a love that would lead to marriage. Anton, seemingly embodying her list of desired qualities in a partner, became the answer to her heartfelt prayers. The couple solidified their commitment in a civil ceremony in San Jose, Negros Oriental, in February of the following year. Marie bid farewell to her career in the skies and returned home to Manila in June, marking the beginning of their earnest preparations for the grand celebration of their love.

Choosing Caleruega Chapel of Transfiguration as their ceremony venue and Narra Hill for the reception, Anton and Marieenvisioned a rustic garden theme for their wedding. The verdant surroundings of Caleruega and Narra Hill provided a picturesque canvas for their celebration of love. Sage green, a color symbolizing growth and tranquility, was chosen as the motif, seamlessly blending with the natural beauty of the venues.
The journey to the altar, however, was not without its challenges. Caleruega’s popularity made securing a slot a daunting task, but luck smiled upon them, granting them the privilege to celebrate on the same year as their civil wedding. Additionally, the chosen date, September 6th, held a sentimental value as it coincided with the birthday of Anton’s late grandmother.
The Outpouting of Blessings
The early stages of planning proved challenging as the couple navigated a long-distance relationship. WhatsApp and Discord became their virtual companions as they meticulously planned each detail. The challenges didn’t end there, as Marie returned from Qatar with an unexpected blessing—a pregnancy. Juggling the demands of pregnancy, a new job for Anton, and wedding preparations proved overwhelming. Their wedding planner became the guiding light, assisting them through every hurdle.
