Philippine Weddings – An Essential Guide by Themes & Motifs: The Processional

Definition: Processional – In a wedding religious ceremony, the walk down the aisle of the entire entourage which ends in the bridal march.
The processional is one of the most awaited moments in a wedding. It offers the first glimpse of the important people in the bride and groom’s life whom they have carefully chosen to be part of their entourage over and above everybody else.
It also will be the first time that the groom will be seen by the wedding guests. Most of all, it will be the moment of glory of the bride who, by the power or love and divine intervention, is at her glowing best.
Some brides are kept hidden from the public’s view until the church doors, venue portals, entrance arch curtains, or whatever it is that conceals her before the bridal march are dramatically opened to signal her entrance.

Note:
There can be variations to these Options as the processional depends on the bride and groom’s preference. Example, the maid of honor may come immediately before the bride (traditionally, the role of the maid of honor is to assist the bride in all her needs: hold the bouquet when the bride needs to fix herself, make sure the bridal gown’s train and veil are always photographable, ready with tissue for any eventuality that needs it, etc).  The priest or pastor may also not be part of the processional.
