Batangas Governor Hermilando “Dodo” Mandanas and lawyer Angelica Chua exchanged I Dos in Batangas on Wednesday afternoon, 8 May, in lovely & true Batangueno fashion.
The wedding unfolded at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Batangas – Archdiocese of Lipa. The ceremony was broadcast live onthe Basilica’s Facebook page.
Chua, displaying her legal background, delivered heartfelt personal vows towards the conclusion of the ceremony —
“I promise to be strong for you, to support you, to always be by your side, and to take good care of you. I promise to listen to you and your suggestions, but not necessarily follow you. It’s only just part of due process,” Chua said with a laugh.
Atty. Chua shared how she had set her standards exceptionally high following past heartaches.
She said they were so high, “no one was supposed to reach it so I won’t get hurt again. Until you came. You showed me that I deserve to be loved and respected and that with you, I can put my guard down,” she expressed gratefully. She refers to Mandanas affectionately as “love,”
In his vows, Mandanas expressed anticipation for parenthood with her and nurturing their children with Christian values, labeling their love as a blessing.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos graced the momentous occasion. Among other attendees were Pampanga Representative former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and big time entrepreneur Ramon Ang of San Miguel Corporation.
Mandanas, aged 80, is a widower, while Chua, a significantly younger lawyer, hails from Ibaan, Batangas.
